HAPPY HAPPY 2023! from Nestlings By Robin

I know I live in Florida but
occasionally it does get chilly:)
The newest member of the family
has enough fur to keep him
warm but he looks So-Damn-Cute
with my scarf and Jim's hat:)

Now that the new year has begun
and I am slowly getting back
into my work routine,
it is time to talk goals!

I have chosen words in the past
but my personality does not do
well with keeping up with that.
I have also in the past, made a
very long list of goals that go
by the wayside.
DON'T EVEN GET ...

Take A Guess from Ravelly1

First of all.....Happy New Year everyone!

If you guessed a strange tree....you would be incorrect!!

I'm barely able to hold it up so that you can get a better view. Anyone guessed yet?

Ok, I've de-leafed it.....Any guesses?
My cousin Thelma called on New Year's Eve to offer this thing to me. I'd never dealt with this type before and was a bit apprehensive, to say the least.  Ok....no more stalling...
This is a very large collard green stock.
Thelma had to talk me through the process of cutting the leaves off ...

Happy New Year... never more heartfelt this new year as we have been through many challenges and could use lots of bright spots.

I'm quilting that "ugly" quilt and having fun with it. We traveled south for nearly three weeks in November/December. I found a neat quilt shop in the hills northeast of San Diego and bought some fabric... went in there looking for a really tiny thimble. Oh well, it was for a planned quilt so not as guilt-creating as just randomly "I like this so much" with no plan at all.

The covid tests made the ...

Happy New Year! And my year in review by the numbers! from L&R Designs Quilting

Wow, 2020! Looking back at 2019, I’m amazed that I got any quilting or sewing done at all! It was my year of travel and adventures. My excursions took me to wintery Nisswa MN, sunny Anna Marie Island FL, amazing Santa Fe NM, incredible Zdar Nad Sazavou Czech Republic and historic Mackinac Island Michigan! And if you add in working at quilt shows, family fun vacations and shopping trips, I left my home state 11 times last year! I will do my very best to keep it up this year!!

On the quilting front, I was happily surprised that ...

001 - Christmas Greetings! from Silly Goose Quilts

Happy New Year!

It's been a while, hasn't it?  I've been thinking a lot about my blogging habits, and whether blogging is dead, and whether I just want to shut the whole thing down.

But truth be told, I miss it.  And even if blogging is dead, I think I'll keep on going with it, just because I like it.  So there.

Hopefully I can keep up with it.  I'm approaching a big number birthday at the end of the year and I want to use this year as my year of discipline.

Oh yes ...

A quick look back before forward to 2020 from Nestlings By Robin

Hard to believe 20 years have
passed since this crew was
together for a new year, decade,
century, millennium!!
We were stationed in Puerto Rico
for 2000 and what a party!
January in Florida is prime
'drink and a nosh on the water' time:)
March was more hockey watching
the Bolts kick some ass
(before imploding later in the season).
Wearing my new awesome fingerless
gloves my mom made for me:)
I find them so comfortable for
handwork too.
April brought a new adventure working
the Connecting Threads booth in Paducah
with this crazy ...

Thoughts on the approaching year. . . . . from Books, Hooks, Sticks, etc.

Well, it seems like just yesterday when we were welcoming in 2019. . . .but here is 2020 knocking on our doors.

I do not think that I am alone in wondering where this year has gone.

The past year was not a great one for me. . . there were so many "want to do's" that ended up not being done; so many "great ideas" that fell by the wayside; and things that just did not get thought about past the brainstorming session that they occurred in.

But, since blog posts are boring without pictures here is this years picture of our ...

Thank you, quilting friends, for another year of support and inspiration! So, how did you do in 2019, creatively speaking? Did you learn any new techniques, complete some long-standing UFOs, take on a favorite BOM quilt, attend any cool retreats or expos? If so, Bravo! and if not, we’ve got a fresh new year to indulge ourselves (not to mention a fresh new decade) so there’s still hope ; )

We wish you a Joyous, Healthy and Creative New Year! One filled with your favorite Marcus and Studio 37 fabrics, great patterns, handy notions and fun gadgets — and of course ...

It's all Thanks to YOU! Thank you for following along and taking part in the fun times we share here at Sew Fresh Quilts. Especially for those of you who have purchased the Koala Love pattern to help raise money to aid Australia during the drought and bushfires.
